Two Axis Magnetometer

The A4051 module comprises of a fluxgate, driver and signal processing circuitry. The magnetometer includes additional, ‘balance' windings into which a
current, derived from another magnetometer, can be injected. With the second one
some 0.5m away, its output can be used to balance the earth's background field; the
measuring fluxgate signal can then be highly amplified to detect minute
disturbances in this field.
Using a fixed core fluxgate, the unit provides two analogue voltage (±2V) outputs for the magnetic field in two orthogonal axes. Three ranges of field level measurement are available - 50μT, 5μT and 0.5 μT (500nT) full scale. High resolution is achieved throughout the range with Autonnic's new front-end signal processing resulting in a noise level better than 1nT over the range.
