Starlight is a navigation aid utilising lighting (a star) to track course changes. Whilst the yacht is on the correct heading the star is in the centre. As the heading drifts, the star moves in the direction of drift, until a steering correction brings it back to centre. Starlight makes it very easy to follow the desired heading without referring to other instruments.
